Long queues of women were seen outside post offices in Bengaluru, mostly Muslims. According to reports, a rumour floated that after June 4, the Congress Party will transfer Rs 8500 monthly to women's accounts. Believing this rumour, many Muslim women were seen opening savings accounts through post offices.

8000 women's accounts opened in 7 days

According to the post office data, in the last 7 days, about 8 thousand women have opened Indian Post Payments Bank accounts (IPPB) accounts. Long queues of women can be seen outside the General Post Office of Bangalore. Dozens of women are standing in the queue to open IPPB. Even the post office officials were surprised to hear the reason for this. According to the rumour, Congress has announced in its manifesto that Rs. 8500 per month will be credited to their IAPPB account if voted back to power.

According to H M Manjesh, Chief Post Master of Bangalore's General Post Office, money from almost all DBT schemes is deposited in IPPB accounts. But there is no information yet that Rs 8500 will be deposited in these accounts. But for the last ten days, suddenly women have been coming to open their accounts. Usually, 50 accounts are opened daily, but for the last few days, 800 women have come to open their IPPB accounts every day. Therefore, special counters have been made for this in the post office.
