Vande Bharat Express train: Stones were pelted at the Vande Bharat train in the Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand on Thursday morning, marking the second such attack on Vande Bharat trains within 24 hours, according to Railways.
The incident occurred on train number 22350 travelling from Ranchi to Patna, with stones damaging the window glasses near seats 5 and 6 in coach E-1. The attack happened between Charhi and Base railway stations in Hazaribagh. As per the information received from the railways, while the windows were badly shattered, no passenger or train staff was injured.
Railway officials are working to identify the culprits using CCTV footage, and the Railway Protection Force (RPF) has initiated an investigation, registering an FIR in the case.
Stone pelted at Lucknow-Patna Vande Bharat
In another stone-pelting incident, the Lucknow-Patna Vande Bharat train was targeted last night. The window glasses of the C-5 coach were broken due to the attack, which occurred after the train left Varanasi. Fortunately, no passengers were injured in the incident.
The police have registered a case and are actively investigating the matter, along with the railways conducting their own probe.
Notably, the Vande Bharat Express is an indigenously manufactured, semi-high speed and self-propelled train set. The train is equipped with state-of-the-art passenger amenities, providing passengers with a faster, more comfortable and convenient travel experience. The Vande Bharat train is India's first indigenously manufactured semi-high-speed trainset, also known as Train 18.
