In a tragic road accident, five people lost their lives while several others were injured after a truck on which they were travelling overturned in Jharkhand's Hazaribag district on Sunday evening, police said. According to the police, the accident happened around 6.30 pm in the Charhi police station area. After the accident, four people died on the spot while one person was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries during the treatment, they added.
Injured undergoing treatment
Moreover, the injured were undergoing treatment and were out of danger. Speaking about the accident, Deputy Commissioner Nancy Sahay said, "The injured were admitted to hospital and their conditions are stated to be stable. Identification of the deceased is being done."
Truck overturns after hitting median
Meanwhile, Bishnugarh SDPO BN Prasad said that the deceased were all labourers and were travelling in the truck with materials for setting up a pandal. The truck overturned after it hit a median, the police official said.
