The Jammu and Kashmir tourism department extended an invitation to the champions of the Indian cricket team to visit Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday (June 30) to continue the team's victory celebrations at the recently concluded ICC T20 World Cup.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the tourism department, while extending congratulations to the 'men in blue' on the team's historic win, said, "Congratulations to Team India on winning the T20 World Cup 2024!! We welcome our champions to visit Jammu and Kashmir to continue the celebrations! It would be an honor to host you in the Crown of Incredible India."
Meanwhile, as the congratulatory greetings and celebrations continue to pour in for team India, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Jay Shah announced on Sunday (June 30) a whopping prize money of INR 125 crore for the Indian cricket team champions for winning the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2024. The Indian men's cricket team ended their 11-year wait for the ICC trophy after beating South Africa in the final by seven runs in Barbados on Saturday.
The BCCI Secretary, Jay Shah, while hailing the team for demonstrating exceptional determination throughout the tournament, revealed the amount of the prize money. He also congratulated players and all coaching staff for their contribution to India's historic achievement.
"I am pleased to announce prize money of INR 125 crore for Team India for winning the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024," Jay Shah wrote in his X post. "The team has showcased exceptional talent, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the tournament. Congratulations to all the players, coaches, and support staff for this outstanding achievement," the BCCI secretary said.
