Kupwara: Security forces, in a joint search operation, on Wednesday recovered arms and ammunition and war-like stores from a forest in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district, the Army said. Army said on specific inputs from military intelligence, a joint operation was launched by the Army and Jammu and Kashmir police in the general area of the Dardnar forest in Kupwara.
During the search operation Rocket Projectile Gun (RPG) rounds, Hand grenades, Pistol along with ammunition and war-like stores have been recovered. "On specific inputs from military intelligence, a Joint Search Operation was launched by the Indian Army & Jammu and Kashmir Police in general area Dardnar Forest, Kupwara today," Army's Chinar Corps said in a post of X.
Infiltration bid foiled along LoC
Earlier on May 16, a major terrorist infiltration bid was foiled by the security forces at the Line of Control (LOC) in the Tanghdhar area of Kupwara in North Kashmir. The infiltration attempt was thwarted by a joint team of the army and Jammu and Kashmir Police.
Four bodies of infiltrating terrorists have been spotted on the other side of the Line of Control (LoC) in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
On receiving specific intelligence input, a joint search operation was launched by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police in the general area of Amrohi, Tangdhar. During the search, two pistols, ammunition and other war-like stores were recovered.
