Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the ‘Empowering Youth, Transforming J&K’ event at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar today (June 20).
Jammu and Kashmir Police have tightened security in Srinagar ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's two-day visit starting Thursday. According to IGP Kashmir Zone Vidhi Kumar Birdi, a comprehensive multi-tier security arrangement has been established to ensure safety during the visit.
Jammu and Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha felicitated PM Modi at the event in Srinagar.
LG Manoj Sinha said, "The Prime Minister will inaugurate 84 developmental projects valued at more than Rs. 1,500 crores, projects worth Rs. 1,800 crores for improvement of Agriculture & Allied Sectors and appointment letters to more than 2000 persons appointed in government service will be given today."
Drone restrictions implemented
On Tuesday, Srinagar police declared the city a 'Temporary Red Zone' for the operation of drones and quadcopters. Unauthorised drone operations in this zone will face penalties under the Drone Rules, 2021.
Inauguration and development projects
Prime Minister Modi arrived in Srinagar on Thursday and participated in the 'Empowering Youth, Transforming J&K' event at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC). He inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for multiple development projects and launched the Competitiveness Improvement in Agriculture and Allied Sectors Project (JKCIP).
International Yoga Day event
On Friday, June 21, PM Modi will participate in the 10th International Day of Yoga event at SKICC. He will address the gathering and join the CYP Yoga session, highlighting the importance of yoga in promoting health and wellness.
