National Conference Chief Farooq Abdullah made huge allegations against the Jammu and Kashmir administration on Saturday. He accused the administration of helping the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) by creating fear among the people and harassing his party’s (JKNC) workers.
While addressing a public rally in the Hazratbal area of Srinagar, Abdullah said, “The police are calling elders and youths and then tells them they are with Hurriyat and others. In reality, they are trying to create fear among you." Moreover, he asked the people to fear no one except god. "We do not have to fear them as tomorrow they will be under your feet, their pride will go away. I want to tell LG (J-K Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha) to stop harassing people. If you think that by using police to harass our people, you (BJP) will win elections, then you will lose the elections by such things," he added.
The NC chief claimed that the BJP would lose the elections in the entire country. While asking UT’s Lieutenant Governor to top using the police to harass NC workers, he said, "Not only in J-K, but you will lose polls in the entire India, I can give you in writing. Then, you will have to pack your bags and return to where you came from,"
Adding further, former J-K CM said,m "God is watching how you (BJP) are using your agencies to try to suppress us in the entire country, but you do not know His power is very strong. His power drowned Pharaon, so He can drown your power too".
Abdullah accuse PM Modi of targeting Muslims
Accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of selectively targeting Muslims, Abdullah said that there is not a single day when Modi does not attack Muslims. Modi has forgotten the issues which propelled him to the PM's post.
Notably, Srinagar has been a stronghold of JKNC as the party has won 10 out of 13 Lok Sabha elections on the seat. Currently, Farooq Abdullah is the incumbent MP from the seat. In 2024, the contest in Srinagar has become triangular as NC has fielded Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi while the PDP has fielded Waheed Parra. On the other hand, Mohammad Ashraf Mir of the Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party will be bidding on behalf of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
