At least two persons were arrested on Monday after arms and ammunition were recovered in Kupwara district. According to an official statement issued by the Indian Army, a Mobile Vehicle Interception Post (MVIP) was established at Gushi Bridge in Kupwara under 'Operation GUSHI'.
Indian Army said that under Operation GUSHI, a Mobile Vehicle Interception Post (MVIP) was established at Gushi Bridge in Kupwara.
In a post on X, the Chinar Corps of the Indian Army said, "In a Joint Operation launched by the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police on specific intelligence, a Mobile Vehicle Interception Post (MVIP) was established today at Gushi Bridge at Kupwara where two suspected individuals were apprehended. "Four hand Grenades, one Pistol with ammunition along with other incriminating materials were recovered," it added.
Further investigation is underway, the Army added.
Five soldiers killed in action in Rajouri gunfight
Five Army personnel including two officers and one terrorist were killed after a gunfight broke out between the security forces and terrorists in the Baji Maal area of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir on November 22.
Earlier on November 17, an encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces in the Behrote Budhal area of Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir where two to three terrorists were trapped on November 17. One terrorist was killed in the gunfight, sources added.
