Jammu and Kashmir: The Indian Army jointly with Kupwara police foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir. During this, one terrorist was neutralised, police said. Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter) the Kashmir Zone Police said that arms and ammunitions have been recovered and a search operation is underway.
"Army & Kupwara police in a joint operation foiled an infilitration bid by neutralising a terrorist on LoC in Amrohi area of Tangdhar Sector. Incriminating materials, arms & ammunition recovered. Search operation in progress. Further details shall follow," Police tweeted.
The identity and the group affiliation of the slain ultra was not immediately known.
Encounter broke out in Rajouri
As per a report from ANI, an encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces in the Bariyama area of Rajouri district on Sunday morning. According to sources, one terrorist has been neutralized in the ongoing encounter.
Indian Army Para Commandos are also engaged in the encounter. The area has been cordoned off by the Indian Army, sources said.
Terrorist killed earlier on Saturday
Earlier, the Jammu and Kashmir Police killed a terrorist in an encounter in the Rajouri district on Saturday, Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Jammu, Mukesh Singh said.
The encounter started during a cordon and search operation by the police and the Army at Gundha-Khawas village in the Budhal area following information about the presence of terrorists there, officials said.
They said a few gunshots were heard from the besieged village and reinforcements were rushed to the scene. The ADGP said in Jammu that the encounter was going on.
"According to feedback from the ground, one terrorist has been killed so far," the officer said.
