A terrorist who sustained injuries in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district earlier in August was found dead on Friday (August 18), officials said.
According to the officials, while one terrorist was killed, another sustained injuries in a gunfight in the Khawas area of Reasi district on August 5.
The injured terrorist could not be traced after the encounter.
"The body of the second terrorist injured in an encounter at Khawas found by special operation group (SoG) at Dhakikot area of Reasi", Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Jammu zone, Mukesh Singh said.
Singh said grenades and magazines were also found at the spot.
Earlier, in a massive success for the forces, the Sopore Police arrested two LeT (Lashkar-e-Toiba) OGWS (Over Ground Workers).
Eight rounds of pistols and grenades were seized from their possession An FIR was registered against them and an investigation is being done, the police said.
"Police along with Army (52RR) at a joint checkpoint established at Sher Colony Tarzoo intercepted two suspicious persons who on seeing the joint party tried to flee from the spot but were apprehended tactfully. They have been identified as Manzoor Ahmad Bhat and Tanveer Ahmad Lone, both residents of Darnambal Tarzoo, linked with proscribed terror outfit LeT. During search, 02 Grenades and 8 Pistol rounds and other incriminating materials were recovered from their possession," the police said.
