In yet another crackdown on terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, the security forces arrested at least eight terrorists arrested with arms and ammunition in the valley. Speaking to the media, Amod Ashok Nagpure, SSP Baramulla, said that eight accused have been arrested in the two cases that were registered.
"A total of five terrorists in another module were arrested from Powarian Thajal of the Uri area on August 11 in a joint operation. 4 hand grenades, 2 pistols 2 pistol magazines, 10 live rounds and Rs 50,000 cash were recovered from them. A four-wheeler vehicle was seized," he added.
The SSP further said that the investigation of the two modules is underway within the ULPA and Arms Act. "The two terror modules are involved in the cross-border smuggling of arms and ammunition at the behest of Pakistan-based terror handlers and its further distribution to LeT terrorists for carrying out terror activities," Nagpure added.
"We have successfully busted two terror modules. The first module was busted on 8th August. The joint forces of Baramulla Police and Army's 16 Sikh Light Infantry arrested three cross-border terror associates & recovered grenades from them...," the Baramulla SSP further added.
