Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi arrived in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar on Saturday (August 26) on a 'family tour' and took a boat ride in Nigeen Lake.
Sonia Gandhi will meet Congress MP Rahul Gandhi today, who has been in Ladakh for the last one week.
The two Congress leaders are not expected to attend any political meetings during their tour.
According to Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) president Vikar Rasool Wani, the duo will not engage in any political meetings with any party leaders during their stay.
Rahul Gandhi reached Ladakh on August 2 on his maiden visit to the region after it was granted the Union Territory status in 2019.
The erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir was also turned into a Union Territory with its special status under Article 370 revoked.
During his stay in Ladakh, Rahul Gandhi has toured all famous places in the region including Pangong lake, Nubra valley, Khardungla top, Lamayuru and Zanskar on his motorcycle before reaching Kargil on Thursday.
He addressed a public meeting in Kargil yesterday before departing for Srinagar.
