In a major development, an encounter broke out between Pakistani terrorists and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Pulwama district on Saturday. According to officials, the Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF are currently engaged in neutralising the terrorists. As per media reports, at least two terrorists are believed to be trapped by the security personnel.
According to officials, the police and army launched a cordon and search operation in the Parigam area following information about movement of terrorists there.
Initially, there was a brief exchange of firing between the terrorists and security forces after which the cordon was tightened and search intensified.
No casualties have been reported so far, the officials said.
