Rajouri Terrorists Attack: Four Army personnel including two officers and one terrorist have been killed after a gunfight broke out between the security forces and terrorists in the Baji Maal area of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday (November 22). One terrorist is still believed to be trapped, officials said.
“A team of security forces was on search operation in Baji Maal forest area of Rajouri when contact was established with terrorists and firefight erupted,” officials said.
"The security forces got input that 2 to 3 terrorists may be hiding in the forests of village Baji under Kalakot police station of Rajouri district of Jammu division. Based on the input, Additional Indian Army Jammu Kashmir Police SOG started a large-scale search operation. During the search, the terrorists started firing on the security forces, after which an encounter started in that area," officials said.
The security forces are keeping an eye on the terrorists in the area with the help of drones and helicopters. Firing is underway from both sides.
Earlier on November 17, an encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces in the Behrote Budhal area of Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir where two to three terrorists were trapped on November 17. One terrorist was killed in the gunfight, sources said.
"One terrorist neutralised, huge cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from the encounter site Behrot in Budhal of Rajouri District. The identity of the terrorist is being ascertained. Search operation underway," Jammu and Kashmir Police had said.
