World Lupus Day is celebrated every year on 10 May. This day is celebrated to raise awareness towards people suffering from Lupus and to alert people about this disease. Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease, which causes inflammation and pain in the joints, muscles, skin and many organs of the body. In such a situation, it is very important to pay attention to diet along with lifestyle.

What things should be consumed?

  • Fruits and vegetables are beneficial in reducing the symptoms of lupus. They contain antioxidants and vitamins, which help in reducing inflammation and strengthening the immune system. People suffering from lupus should eat fruits and vegetables like green leafy vegetables, citrus fruits, berries and tomatoes.

  • Avoid consuming baked and fried things.
