Be it summer or winter, water is a very important mineral for our healthy body. Water removes toxins from the body and detoxifies it. Due to lack of water, not only does your body get dehydrated but you can also have the problem of kidney stones. The problem of kidney stones is increasing rapidly among people these days and many people are becoming victims of it. Especially, drinking less water in this humid season greatly triggers the problem of kidney stones. Let us tell you why kidney stones occur due to lack of water and how much water should stone patients drink in a day.

When do kidney stones occur?

Kidney is a very important organ of our body. It filters the blood and removes the fine particles of sodium, calcium and other minerals present in it out of the body through the ureter. But when these minerals become excessive in our body, the kidneys are unable to filter them and they start accumulating in them and take the form of stones.

Drinking less water can increase the problem of kidney stones:

During the summer season, our body sweats more due to which our body becomes dehydrated and there is a lack of water in the body. In this condition of dehydration, the problem of kidney stones increases rapidly. Actually, by drinking less water in this season, the salt and minerals present in the body turn into crystals and start taking the form of stones.

How much water should you drink in a day?

People who have kidney stones or have a family history of kidney stones should drink at least 2 litres to 3 litres of water a day. If you work in the field, you should drink even more. Also, reduce salt intake. Eat less chicken and meat. By drinking more water, the kidneys filter these minerals due to which the stones are passed out through urine.
