In the 2019 Ambala City Assembly Elections, BJP candidate Aseem Goel Naneola for the second time won the seat with a margin of 8,952 votes, receiving 64,896 votes and securing 42.2% of the vote share. He defeated independent candidate Nirmal Singh Mohra, who received 55,944 votes, polling at 36.38%.
It was in the 2014 Haryana Assembly Elections, that BJP candidate Aseem Goel Naneola first marked his victory from the Ambala City seat, securing 60,216 votes. His main competitor, HJCPV candidate Venod Sharma, received 36,964 votes and finished second, with Goel winning by a margin of 23,252 votes.
However, in the 2024 elections, it will be interesting to see how first-time candidates from AAP and Congress perform against BJP's two-time winner Aseem Goel Naneola.
Ambala City Assembly Elections: Polling Date
The Ambala City constituency will go to the polls on October 5 (Saturday). The Election Commission of India (ECI) changed the voting date from October 1 to October 5 following requests from several political parties and social organizations.

The result for the Ambala City constituency will be declared on October 8 (Tuesday), along with the other 89 constituencies in Haryana. The ECI postponed the result date from October 4 to October 8.
