VIDEO: Teacher slaps 4-year-old kid 35 times in Surat school, CCTV footage gets her arrested

In the video, an old-age teacher is seen sitting on a chair and supervising the child's work. The teacher who appears to be unhappy with the child's work, starts hitting the student repeatedly. The child appears to be in pain.

A female teacher of a private school in Surat city in Gujarat was arrested on Wednesday for beating a 4-year-old girl studying in kindergarten. The family has alleged that the teacher slapped the girl 35 times while teaching her. This entire incident was captured in the CCTV installed in the classroom. State Education Minister Prafulla Panseria has condemned the ill-treatment of the girl and asked the District Education Officer to investigate the incident.

The incident took place at Sadhna Niketan School located at Kargil Chowk, Kapodra, Surat. The matter came to light when the girl's parents shared CCTV footage with the media, in which Khokhriya was seen repeatedly hitting and slapping their daughter on the back for some reason in the classroom on Monday. In the CCTV footage of the classroom, it can be seen that Khokhariya is sitting near the girl and slapping her on the back and face about 35 times.

Assistant Police Commissioner Vipul Patel said teacher Jashodaben Khokhria was arrested under Indian Penal Code section 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and relevant sections of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015. Patel said, “Based on the complaint given by the girl’s parents, we have arrested the teacher Jashodaben.”
