President Murmu to address Gujarat Assembly session, to inaugurate NeVA project on September 13

President Draupadi Murmu will inaugurate the National e-Vidhan Application (Neva) project of the Gujarat Assembly.

President Droupadi Murmu will be visiting Gujarat to inaugurate the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA)  project of the state Assembly on September 13. She will also address the legislators, an official said on Saturday.

Gujarat Assembly Secretary DM Patel said that the President will inaugurate NeVA, a project that has been implemented based on the concept of 'One Nation, One Application' introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The project aims to make the Assembly paperless. After the inauguration, the President will address the MLAs.

President Murmu to address 3rd session of 15th Assembly

“Vidhan Sabha Speaker Shankar Chaudhary had invited President Murmu to inaugurate the project and address the House during the third session of the 15th Assembly which commences on September 13,” Patel said in a video statement.

“The work to make Gujarat Assembly digital as part of PM Modi’s ‘One Nation, One Application’ project was completed under the guidance of speaker Shankar Chaudhary. President Draupadi Murmu has accepted the invitation to inaugurate the digital house of the Gujarat Assembly,” he said.

The application aims to encourage the active participation of MLAs in various technology-based operations by providing them with tablets, and training has been provided to them for this purpose.

Wasnik asks heads of Congress’s frontal organisations in Gujarat to fill up vacant posts

Congress general secretary in-charge of Gujarat, Mukul Wasnik, on Saturday, directed the heads of the party’s frontal organizations in the state to fill the vacant posts. He also discussed preparations for the Lok Sabha elections with the state leadership. During his second visit to Gujarat in less than two weeks after being appointed in-charge of the state, Wasnik held one-on-one meetings with presidents of various frontal organizations and also attended the core committee meeting, according to party sources.

A leader said, "Wasnik has directed them to appoint dedicated individuals from all communities at every level to fill vacant positions and strengthen the party." During the core committee meeting, Pradesh Congress President and Rajya Sabha member Shaktisinh Gohil and the leader of the legislative party, Amit Chavda, were also present.
