A team of 15 police officers in Gujarat solved a sensational kidnapping and murder case. It took police officials to go through 350 CCTVs and 1200 GB of data to identify the accused who kidnapped and murdered 19-year-old Yash Sanjeevkumar Tomar.

Yash Sanjeevkumar Tomar, a resident of Meghpar-Borichi, Anjar, had gone missing suspiciously after going to college on November 7. After 15 days of investigation, both the criminals who murdered him have been arrested. The initial investigation revealed a shocking reason for the murder.

After Yash Tomar's disappearance on November 7, his family received a call demanding ransom. His family informed the police and an FIR was registered.

During CCTV analysis, a person was seen sitting as pillion rider on Yash's scooter with a bag. Amid this, police checked Yash's social media and found that a video of an unknown place posted on his account in which he said "I'm trapped".

Police found that this place was near Panch Mukhi Hanuman of Gandhidham. When the team reached the place, cops found Yash's body buried under the ground behind Panchmukhi Hanuman Temple. The body was sent for post-mortem.

As the investigation advanced, cops analysed 1,200 GB data from 350 CCTV cameras installed across the city.

After 15 days of an in-dept analysis of the CCTV footage, cops arrested one Rajendra Kumar Kalaria, the man who was seen sitting behind Yash's scooter. The accused confessed to the crime and also informed about another person involved in the case who was also nabbed. The second accused was identified as Kishan Mavjibhai Maheshwari.

Kidnapping-murder planned to deal with economic crisis

During interrogation, accused Rajendrakumar alias Raju Kalaria (Patel), resident of Gandhidham who used to do seat cover repairing work, was in financial trouble five years ago, but suddenly due to loss in business, he had to sell vehicles. Later his business also shut down and he was in debt. Therefore in order to get rid of the debt, he sent his family to live in Ahmedabad.

He knew Yash Tomar as both used to live in the same society in Bageshree, Varsamedi area five years ago. Both the families also knew each other. The accused was aware that Yash's family was financially strong.

Therefore, to get rid of the debt, he planned the crime.
