In yet another incident, a 12-year-old schoolgirl collapsed in the class and died of a suspected heart attack on Wednesday (September 28) in Gujarat's Surat. Deaths due to heart attacks in young children leading to their death have become a matter of concern. The new case adds to the growing mystery surrounding the sudden deaths of young individuals across the state in recent months.

Riddhi Mewada was studying in class 8 at Geetanjali School located in the Godadara area. The Riddhi was sitting on the first bench. While attending the last lecture, she suddenly collapsed and fell down from the bench. The teacher immediately informed the principal and she was taken to the hospital for treatment. However, tragically, she passed away before receiving any medical attention at the hospital.
The entire incident was captured on CCTV in the classroom. In the video footage, it can be seen that the teacher was taking a class, and all the students were in their seats. Suddenly, a student sitting on the front bench collapsed to the ground. This sight terrified the teacher and all the students in the classroom, and they began to panic.
School staff worried due to sudden death of student
The family members are in shock and mourning the sudden death of their daughter. This incident shocked everyone in the classroom, including the class teacher and fellow students. The school staff is also deeply concerned about the sudden demise of the student as well. The police have registered a case of an unexpected death and are conducting an investigation into the incident.
Riddhi's father Mukesh Mewada is a textile trader and the family hails lives in Saibaba Society of Godadara area of Surat.
Reportedly, this is the seventh death of a youngster in the state. Earlier, on September 25, a 19-year-old first-year engineering student passed away due to a heart attack while rehearsing garba dance steps in a class in Jamnagar. Similarly, a 24-year-old garba enthusiast in Junagadh also experienced a similar fate on September 24.
