Several parts of Gujarat receive heavy downpour; alert issued

According to the State Meteorological Department, the areas of Pardi and Valsad in the Valsad district received heavy rainfall of 169mm and 168 mm respectively in the last 24 hours. Kamrej in Surat reported 149 mm of rainfall and Khergam area in Navsari received 147 mm rainfall.

Gujarat rains: As many states of India has been reporting moderate to heavy rainfall in the past few days, several areas of Gujarat have also received heavy rainfall on early hours of Thursday.

According to the State Meteorological Department, the areas of Pardi and Valsad in the Valsad district received heavy rainfall of 169mm and 168 mm respectively in the last 24 hours. Kamrej in Surat reported 149 mm of rainfall and Khergam area in Navsari received 147 mm rainfall.

India Tv - Jesar, Dabhoi, Nadiad, Limbdi, Anand, Waghodia, Himatanagar and Deesa areas received minimum rainfall.

The downpour is continuing in parts of Valsad, Tapi, Navsari, Narmada and Surat Rural and Vadodara Rural districts of the state.

A “red colour warning” was issued for districts of Navsari and Valsad with very heavy rainfall likely in these districts during the next three days, according to officials from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the national capital woke up to pleasant weather after receiving rainfall today (June 29) morning bringing respite from the scorching heat.  As per IMD, the city is expected to experience a cloudy sky with light to moderate rain/thundershowers on Thursday.
