Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visit to Mehsana, Gujarat, paid homage to Govind Guruji, highlighting the extraordinary contributions of Guruji to India's struggle for independence and the service of the Tribal community. "Before coming here, I had the chance to visit the Ambaji Temple... The way the 'Gabbar' (a small hillock to the west of Ambaji village believed to be the original seat of the goddess) is being developed, I spoke about it in the 'Mann ki Baat' yesterday... Today developmental projects worth Rs. 6000 have been announced... These projects will strengthen the farmers... These will create connectivity with the whole country... All districts around Mehsana would be benefitted because of these projects....," said PM Modi.

On Monday, he offered prayers at the revered Ambaji Temple, nestled in the scenic region of Chikla. PM Modi was accorded a warm welcome by Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel as he arrived at Ahmedabad Airport. This visit marks a significant event in the state's political calendar, with Prime Minister Modi scheduled to launch and lay the foundation stones for multiple development projects worth Rs 5,950 crore during his two-day stay.
The Prime Minister's visit began with a reception at the Ahmedabad Airport, where he was greeted by Gujarat's top officials, including Governor Acharya Devvrat and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel. The warm welcome was a testament to the strong relationship between the state and the central government.
PM Modi to launch Rs 5,950 crore development projects
On the first day of his two-day visit to Gujarat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for several development projects collectively valued at Rs 5,950 crore. The event is scheduled to take place in Gujarat's Mehsana district. PM Modi will commence his visit by paying his respects at the Ambaji temple located in the Banaskantha district. Following this, he will proceed to the village of Dabhoda in the Kheralu taluka of Mehsana for a public function. During this event, the Prime Minister will launch multiple projects and address a gathering of attendees.
These projects span various government departments, including the Indian Railways, Gujarat Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation (GRIDE), state water resource and water supply departments, roads and buildings, and urban development departments, according to an official government release.
The 16 development initiatives to be unveiled by PM Modi will impact districts in Mehsana, Ahmedabad, Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Mahisagar, Gandhinagar, and Patan, the release added.
The projects set to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi encompass railway developments, such as new sections of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor (WDFC) and the doubling of the Viramgam-Samakhiali rail line. Additionally, projects related to the recharge of rural lakes, the construction of a barrage on the Sabarmati River, and initiatives for drinking water and sewage water treatment are on the agenda.
The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stones for various irrigation projects, road widening initiatives, and sewage treatment plants as part of these developmental endeavors.
