An old bridge collapsed in Gujarat's Surendranagar district on Sunday. The incident took place near Vastadi village in the district.
Videos of the incident has gone viral which show a lorry stuck in the middle of the canal.
It is being said that this bridge collapsed when two bikes along with a dumper were passing over this bridge. Due to the sudden collapse of the bridge, all the vehicles passing over it fell into the river. About 10 people were feared to be trapped, out of which 6 people have been rescued.
According to sources, the injured were taken to the hospital for treatment. This accident happened near Vastadi village of Surendranagar district. This bridge was built to connect Chura to the National Highway. As soon as the bridge collapsed, there was a scream all around.
As soon as the news was received, the local people and the village sarpanch reached the spot. After this, the police and administration team reached the spot and started the rescue work. Information has also come to light that local people were demanding to build a new bridge for a long time.
