Amid the rising of fake information on social media, the Central Government is leaving no stone unturned to make the youth of the country self-reliant. Sometimes they are being given training in new skills and some day they are being offered loans to start their own business. Amidst all this, a letter in the name of PM Mudra Yojna, the loan scheme of the Government of India, is going viral, in which it is being told that a few rupees have to be paid to take a loan.

Let us look at the claim:

A letter is being shared on WhatsApp and social media, which states that an amount has to be paid for taking a loan under the Central Government's scheme PM Mudra Yojana. It has been written in the letter that Rs 36,500 will have to be paid for taking a loan of Rs 3 lakh. The central government gives loans up to Rs 10 lakh under this scheme.

Such letters have gone viral in the past as well, in which it has been talked about giving payment on taking a loan. When we searched on Google about PM Mudra Yojana to verify this claim, nothing specific was found. On the other hand, when we searched the viral picture by going to Google search image, we found some old tweets which were posted by PIB. There were also some reports, whose fact check has already been done. Even in those fact-check stories, it has been misquoted. In a tweet dated January 30, 2023, PIB had written that the information charging Rs 1750 for a loan of Rs 1 lakh is false. The government does not charge any such payment.

In the investigation done by the Fact Check team of India TV regarding this news, it becomes clear that there is no provision for such payment by the Central Government on the loan facility related to PM Mudra Yojana, as mentioned in this Claimed in the viral photo.
