A misleading video claims that the Modi government has launched a scheme to give Rs 3,000 per month to women. The video, which has been widely shared on social media, claims that the scheme was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Parliament. However, this is not true. The scheme is called the Mukhyamantri Ladli Bahna Yojana, and it is being run by the Madhya Pradesh government.
There are general elections in the country next year, and some assembly elections are also going to be held in the next few months. In such a situation, various types of posts about politicians, parties, and government schemes and announcements are going viral on social media.
When India TV fact-checked this viral post, we found this claim to be misleading.

It is said in this video, "The BJP government has started the Ladli Bahna Yojana, three thousand rupees will be deposited in every woman's account, you just have to register with your phone. Announcement of a special scheme for women in the Parliament amidst the humming. Women will not be happy after receiving this gift from Modi, if this work is done properly, three thousand rupees will come into their accounts every month. India TV did a fact check
When we looked carefully at this video, the claims made inside were different. At the beginning of the video, it is said that PM Modi will give gifts to the sisters on Raksha Bandhan. Modi has announced this scheme in Parliament. Under this, 3 thousand rupees will go to the accounts of women every month. But when we reached the end of the video, it showed 'Chief Minister Ladli Bahna Yojana' written on it and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan's picture.
After this, we searched on Google about the Ladli Bahna Yojana run by the Central Government, but we did not find any news about the Ladli Bahna Yojana announced by the Modi government anywhere. After this, we searched on Google about the announcements made by the Modi government during this monsoon session of Parliament, but here too we did not find any such news that could confirm the viral claim that there is no Ladli Behna Yojana from the Modi government.
MP government started initiative
When we did not come to know about any such announcement by the Modi Government, we started gathering information about the Ladli Bahna Yojana on Google. In our search, we reached the official website of the Government of Madhya Pradesh. It is mentioned here that its full name is Mukhyamantri Ladli Bahna Yojana and that it is an initiative of the Government of Madhya Pradesh. Here, the picture of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is also clearly visible. Till now, one thing has become clear: this scheme is not being run by the Modi government but by the Shivraj government of Madhya Pradesh.
Scheme is not related to Raksha Bandhan
When we gathered more information about the Ladli Bahna Yojana on the website of the Madhya Pradesh government, we came to know that the economic independence of women in Madhya Pradesh, continuous improvement in the health and nutrition level of their dependent children, and strengthening the decisive role of women in the family. The MP government had started this scheme for them, not as a gift for Raksha Bandhan. It is written in this that on January 28, 2023, the Madhya Pradesh government announced the implementation of the "Mukhyamantri Ladli Bahna Yojana" in the entire state. Till now, it was also clear that "Laadli Bahna Yojana" is not any kind of special scheme launched on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan.
Incomplete truth
After reading more about this scheme on the website of the Madhya Pradesh government, It came to know that Rs 1000 per month will be given to women in Madhya Pradesh under the "Mukhya Mantri Ladli Bahna Yojana". But in the viral post, it is claimed that under this scheme, women will be given Rs 3,000 per month. When we found out more about the amount of the scheme on Google, the news of India TV came to the fore. In this, it was said that Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan is going to increase the amount given under the Ladli Bahna Yojana from Rs. 1000 to Rs. 3000 per month. But in this announcement, it has been said that the amount of this scheme will be increased from time to time to three thousand rupees, with an increase of 250 rupees.
Lastly, we also found out that the way women are being asked to apply for Ladli Bahna Yojana in the viral video is the right way, or that misleading people to make them victims of some kind of fraud. is being tried. In this viral post, it has been said that for this scheme, women will have to leave a missed call on a number, after which a link will come to them. Women will have to complete the registration process at that link. But in reality, the application process for the Ladli Bahna Yojana is completely different. For this scheme, forms will be filled out by organising camps in every village and city ward of the state. Dear sister, please fill out the form.
