India TV Fact Check: A video is going viral on social media claiming that Nitish Kumar has left the BJP alliance. The viral video suggests that Nitish Kumar has changed his stance again. However, India TV fact-checked revealed this claim to be entirely false. This misinformation follows the recent Lok Sabha elections, where no party secured an absolute majority. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), having won the most seats, formed the government with support from other parties in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA). Currently, besides the BJP, the Janata Dal-United (JDU) under Nitish Kumar's leadership and the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) under Chandrababu Naidu play crucial roles within the NDA.

As the video was rapidly spreading on social media with claims of the I.N.D.I.A. alliance's victory, we decided to investigate this claim. Using relevant keywords, we conducted a search on Google Open Search and found the full video from the News 24 channel, from which a small part was edited and shared on social media. Our investigation revealed that the video was originally uploaded on News 24's YouTube channel on August 9, 2022. Upon reviewing the video, it became clear that the news was quite old and unrelated to the current Lok Sabha elections.
What came out in fact check?
India TV's fact check has confirmed that the viral video circulating on social media is not recent and does not indicate any change in Nitish Kumar's stance.
