A video shot from inside a flight showing a rocket taking off up high is going viral on internet to guarantee that it was shot as of late and shows the send off of the Indian Space Research Organisation's (ISRO) Chandrayaan-3, as seen from a flight. India's third lunar exploration mission, Chandrayaan-3, successfully launched on July 14 from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. With the release of Chandrayaan-3's mission on the moon, several videos started going viral on social media regarding its launch.
One of these videos has gone viral in which it is being claimed that a passenger sitting in a passenger plane has recorded the view of the launch of Chandrayaan-3 from the window seat of the plane. When the team of India TV fact-checked this viral video, it turned out to be of the year 2022 and not of Chandrayaan-3.
Shortly after the launch of Chandrayaan-3, a video went viral on the internet with the claim, "Chandrayaan-3 launching video! A passenger saw such a scene of Chandrayaan-3 from the window seat of the plane."
When we investigated further, the same video was being shared with another false claim, which read, "An IndiGo flight was on its way from Dhaka to Chennai. Coincidentally it was passing over Sriharikota at the time of launch of Chandrayaan-3. During this, the pilot of the plane announced that all the passengers can see this historic event. A passenger sitting on the window seat recorded the video and this is the first video recorded from the sky of that rocket."
Fact check of the viral video
When we fact-checked the video, we first reverse-searched some keyframes of the video. A news article dated 16 December 2022 surfaced in reverse search. This article was published on the Independent website. The same video was also posted in it but the video was of a different incident. In this news article, the video has been told from America. In this video of a Tiktok user, it has been said that passengers in a plane flying near Cape Canaveral in Florida saw the SpaceX rocket launch. In it, TikTok user @chefpinkpr is a flight attendant who shared a video of the moment during the flight. In this news article, this viral video has been described as the launch of Falcon-9 rocket of Elon Musk's space agency SpaceX.
