After the announcement of two Bollywood biopics on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, another filmmaker has announced a web series on him which goes by the name Modi. The web series will be helmed by Umesh Shukla, who is known for making slice-of-life films like Oh My God and 102 Not Out. Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh announced the big news on his Twitter while also sharing the first look from the web series.
He wrote, “Now a 10-part *web series* on PM Narendra Modi... Eros Now and Benchmark Pictures [Umesh Shukla and Ashish Wagh] to produce the biopic... Titled #Modi... Directed by Umesh Shukla [who directed #OhMyGod and #102NotOut]... Premieres in April 2019 on Eros Now... First look poster”
According to his tweet, the web series Modi will go on air on Eros Now from April 2019. In the first look, the male lead who’s playing PM Narendra Modi in the film looks straight into the camera while having rimless glasses placed on the bridge of his nose.
Earlier in January, two biopics on PM Narendra Modi were announced. One of them is being helmed by Mary Kom fame Omung Kumar. Vivek Oberoi is playing PM Modi in the film. The first look of the film was revealed in January, in which Oberoi neither looks like himself nor like the Prime Minister. In another biopic, veteran actor Paresh Rawal will essay the Prime Minister. The filming will begin later this year.
