On Thursday, TV Producer Ekta Kapoor shared a video showing the amazing transformation of Rajkummar Rao for an ALT Balaji web series Bose: Dead/Alive. In the web series, Rao is playing the titular role of nationalist Subhash Chandra Bose. Ekta Kapoor reveals that the show is based on the life and legacy of this great freedom fighter and the conspiracies surrounding his mysterious death. Later on Thursday, she shared the trailer of web series on her Twitter account.
‘Between rumours and mystery lies the truth. Watch the complete new trailer of #BoseDeadOrAlive’, she tweeted.
The trailer carries a backdrop of Germany. In the video, German politician Adolf Hitler is shown having a conversation with Bose at his office. Rajkummar Rao as Subhash Chandra Bose is barely-recognisable. Hitler asks Bose how he knew that it wasn’t me. To this he replies, “A fake Hitler has an image to maintain, a real one doesn’t care’.
It also carries the famous one-liner of Subhash Chandra Bose ‘Tum mujhe khoon do, main tumhe azaadi dunga’. And undoubtedly, Rajkummar Rao delivers the dialogues as perfectly as it could’ve been.
Bose: Dead/Alive narrates the life and legacy of Subhash Chandra Bose and the mystery around his death. In the trailer, several politicians are seen mulling over whether Bose was dead or still alive, while the British Army labelling him as ‘biggest enemy of British Raj’.
Ever since the trailer was released by TV producer Ekta Kapoor, Bollywood celebrities have been lauding the team's work on Twitter. Here's how they reacted.

It is the second trailer of Bose: Dead/Alive. In August, ALT Balaji released the first trailer of the web series, starring Rajkummar Rao.
Earlier on Thursday, Rajkummar Rao shared how he underwent great physical and mental transformation to become Subhash Chandra Bose in the web series. He shared, everyday he had six rasgullas to gain weight. He gained 12 kilos of weight to look bulkier like Bose.
Helmed by Hansal Mehta, Bose: Dead/Alive will be streamed on ALT Balaji app from November 20. Going by the trailer, Rajkummar Rao's Bose is definitely worth the binge-watch.
