The Bollywood film Sanju on actor Sanjay Dutt’s life is one of the most successful films of 2018. Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, the Ranbir Kapoor starrer movie has been creating waves across Indian and international box-offices. The Sanjay Dutt biopic proved to be extremely successful owing to Ranbir’s phenomenal acting and Sanju Baba’s controversial life. Now, buzz has it that Sanjay Dutt’s life will be told in a three-part web series.
According to a report in DNA, an international digital streaming platform has reached out to the actor’s production house to make a three-part show on his life.
“With the movie, people got a glimpse into the journey that Sanju has had. The idea behind the web series is to make a show on a big scale, which will give an insight into the more hard-hitting aspects of his life. It can bring into focus the nuanced details of everything that actually went into making him the Sanjay Dutt that we see today”, a source was quoted as saying to the daily.
Many have felt it’s more of a Rajkumar Hirani film than a biopic on Sanjay Dutt as his life and relationships have been shown with rose-tinted glasses. There has been talk also of Dutt having other close friends other than Paresh Ghelani (called Kamli and played by Vicky Kaushal in the movie) who have been side-lined in Sanju.
Hence, if the reports are to be true then the audience might get to see several other aspects of Sanjay Dutt’s life that Rajkumar Hirani missed out in Sanju.
Meanwhile, Sanju has been rocking the box-office. The Ranbir Kapoor starrer has become the fourth highest grossing Hindi film of all time.
Even after completing a month at the box office, the biopic has refused to bow down and has survived new releases for four weeks now. Its collection stands at Rs 339.75 crore, just ahead of Salman Khan’s Tiger Zinda Hai, which earned Rs 339.16 in its theatrical run.
