After running for almost five years, popular TV show Yeh Hai Mohabbatein is going off air in October, latest reports suggest. The Ekta Kapoor’s show, starring Divyanka Tripathi and Karan Patel, revolves around the love story of a Tamil dentist Ishita Iyer and a Punjabi CEO Raman Bhalla. The ending of the daily soap is all set to be shot on a grand scale and the team of the show will head abroad for shooting the finale, the reports added.
The daily, which once topped the TRP charts, has, of late, failed to garner good numbers. The recent story line which was inspired by Kyunkii Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, where Ishita shoots her own son, was not well received by fans. The track faced severe backlash from fans and many took to social media asking Ekta Kapoor to shut the show.
Divyanka Tripathi to make digital debut
The telly actress will now be playing the lead in Ekta Kapoor’s series. The news was confirmed by the producer Ekta herself. She took the news to her Twitter and wrote, “Ok since ppl got it! The show will revolve around two chefs and the hunt for the male role is still on. Talking more about the show, a source told indianexpress.com, “The show will be a mature love story. It’s expected to launch by end of the year. Popular author Jaya Misra will pen the story for Ekta”.
