Ever since TV show Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka aired on the television, a section of telly viewers criticised Drashti Dhami’s character in the show. Dhami, who played Nandini in the show, was touted to be a homewrecker between the happy couple Shakti Arora and Aditi Sharma. Day in and day out, Drashti Dhami was trolled and criticised on the social media, however, the makers continued with the extra-marital affair angle. Despite the bashing and trolling, it wasn’t the reason why Drashti walked out of the popular TV show all of sudden.
Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka’s producer Sunjoy Wadhwa said that Drashti Dhami was not comfortable portraying a mother on the television. The post-leap track of Silsila required Dhami to play a mother, which was not okay with her.

"She was not comfortable playing a mother in the show, which will now soon have babies,” said the producer.
This is not the first time Drashti Dhami left the show when she was asked to essay a mother. Earlier, she left the show Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani, for the similar reasons. She was not ready to be a mother on a TV show.
TV producer has made it clear that the negative feedback and trolling played no part in her exit from the show.
"I think it was soon clear after 7-8 days into the show that an extra-marital affair between Nandini and Kunal was on the cards. Drashti had problems neither with that nor with the way the social media reacted (Read, erupted) after that. Also if you see carefully, we have never tried to say in the show who is right and who is wrong, let the viewer decide and we have no problem with that. And, reactions on social media spring up for almost every show don't they?", he added.
Despite her departure, Wadhwa is keen on working with Drashti Dhami in future again.
“There is no problem here that Drashti is not doing the show any further. If I have a role in future where I want to cast Drashti, I will go to only her and nobody else. She is a very good actress, no doubt. And, we had a fantastic working relationship- not just in Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani but Silsila Badalte Rishton Ka too,” he concluded.
