Kundali Bhagya actress Shraddha Arya opens about #MeToo movement
Ever since actress Tanushree Dutta came out in open about her #MeToo story and accused veteran Bollywood actress Nana Patekar for sexual misconduct during the shoot of her 2010 film Horn Ok Pleasssss, many women have found the courage to come forward with their stories of the heinous act. Bollywood celebrities like Priyanka Chopra, Zoya Akhtar, Farhan Akhtar, Akshay Kumar and others have stood in support in all the victims and have taken actions to oppose sexual harassment. Not just the Bollywood celebrities, but actor from the television world have also come forward to support and praise the women who have talked about their #MeToo stories. One such actor is Kundali Bhagya fame Shraddha Arya.
At the recent awards night, actress Shraddha Arya opened up about the ongoing #MeToo movement and lauded the women for their courage. She said, “I think it takes immense courage to come out and speak about the experiences that have horrified you, that are harassing you in some corner of your mind. To speak about such things it takes immense courage and it is also reliving as you talk about it in open and people know that you had been holding back in your mind. I really support the Me Too movement and I just cannot understand people who just brush it off like ‘kya chal raha hai?’. This is very real and such things happen in this industry and everywhere else. Women are sometimes mistreated and manhandled, and I’m very glad that this movement is happening.”
She further continued, “I also have something to say in the Me Too movement but I will say it on some another day... I have a very stark experience that always stayed in my mind and it would also help me if I talk about it.”
Shraddha was present at the Zee Rishte Awards and she even bagged an award for her performance. The actress shared the picture and wrote, “Thank You for making me your Favorite... it’s extremely special for me and I promise to never take it for granted!
