Popular senior actress of television industry Amita Udgata, who played the titular role of Dadi Bua in Shaheer Sheikh’s Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi, passed away on Tuesday night. The veteran actress suffered lungs failure post which she passed away. According to a leading daily report, she was battling lungs problem for past few days.
Amita Udgata is survived by two children, Ruchin Udgata and Rishabh Udgata. She was hospitalised for last four days and was on life support. The actress is known for her works in shows like Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi, Mann Ke Awaaz Pratigya, Maharana Pratap, Baba Aiso Varr Dhundo and Doli Armaanon Ki.
Amita Udgata also featured in movies like Parineeti Chopra-starrer Hasee Toh Phase and Aishwarya Rai’s Sarabjit.
Actress Abha Parmar, who is a close friend to Amita Udgata spoke about her sad demise to India Today. She said, “We were more like sisters than friends. I am from Kanpur and she was from Lucknow. I wasn't aware that her condition so serious. I was supposed to visit her today. She was a great actress and a friend and we have faced life's struggles together."
