Devdutt Pattnaik turns consultant for Ishqbaaz’s new Ramayana track. Details inside

In the new twist, Ishqbaaz couple Shivaay and Anika will be sent to exile by their family.

Renowned Indian author Devdutt Pattnaik, who wrote My Gita, Jaya, Myth=Mithya and others, is turning consultant for a special sequence in popular TV show Ishqbaaz. The show which stars Nakuul Mehta and Surbhi Chandna in lead roles will be witnessing a special track in which a modern depiction of Ramayana will be shown. The leads, Shivaay and Anika will be ousted from the Oberoi mansion and live a commoner’s life, just like Lord Rama and Sita were sent to an exile.

Currently in the show, the lead couple of Annika and Shivaay played by Surbhi Chandna and Nakuul Mehta, are living away from their family. That is 'vanwaas' track, in which actor Nikitin Dheer will play the modern day Raavan.

Since the track will be focusing on all the major happenings inspired by the epic, Pattnaik has been roped in, read a statement from channel Star Plus.

Pattnaik said: "There is a Ram, Sita and Raavan in everybody. Through these modern characters, we as an audience get to live their traits again. I, of course, added nuances and I am sure that the makers will shoot the track aesthetically."

Recently, a video of Shivaay and Anika’s Lohri sequence was going viral on internet. In the video, the telly couple was romancing on the popular Tiger Zinda Hai track Dil Diyan Gallan. Nakuul Mehta aka Shivaay shared the video on his official Twitter handle.
