Bigg Boss is certainly most controversial reality TV show on Indian television. Thus, the contestant line-up of the show, by design, has to be controversial. Bigg Boss is back with the season 11, and this season is seeing a concoction of celebrities and non-celebrities on the show. On Sunday, the host Salman Khan revealed the name of contestants, and just like every year, it is a thrilling amalgamation of controversial contestants, with Arshi Khan grabbing the headlines right from the start.
Arshi Khan is going to make more headlines in the coming episode that is for sure. She is a model and an aspiring actor having a scandalous past, which justifies her over-flashy behaviour on the show.
Arshi is a Bhopal-born girl who has done several controversial photoshoots, including one in which she pasted pictures of Pakistani cricketers on her body parts. In another attention-mongering photoshoot, she plastered Pakistani flag on her bust and lower body. Many believe that she is a Pakistani citizen, citing her Urdu dialect and love for Pakistani cricketers. But she’s purely of Indian origin.
Although, other contestants like Shilpa Shinde and Vikas Gupta are too courting controversies due to their mutual past, Arshi Khan is going to be the most divisive one, for sure. Her semi-nude photos, social media posts and scandalous interviews make people wonder what brought her on a TV show which is watched by a family audience.

- In 2015, Arshi tweeted openly about her physical relationship with Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi. She alleged that she had sexual intercourse with Afridi and she doesn't need anyone’s permission to sleep with someone. She said, “Yes, I had s** with Afridi! Do I need the Indian media’s permission to sleep with someone? It’s my personal life. For me it was love”. Later, a Fatwa was issued against her by a mufti from a Madrassa in Pakistan.
- Next year, she tweeted announcing her pregnancy and also that Afridi has accepted their relationship. However, she didn’t confirm that she’s having the child with Shahid Afridi. Soon after this, she denied being pregnant in an interview. She shunned the news saying that she only underwent a hormonal disorder which she mistook as a pregnancy.
- In 2016, a fatwa was issued against Arshi for posting Bikini-Burkha-Hijab pictures on her social media. Her official page was subsequently blocked. She was seen wearing a bikini beneath a Hijab and in another picture, she was exposing her legs wearing a Burkha.
- In another volcanic allegation, she accused self-styled spiritual leader Radhe Maa of running a sex racket. She also claimed that her business agent met Arshi and offered her to join the racket.
- In October 2016, a Pune Mirror reported that Arshi Khan was in a town to be part of the ‘flesh trade’. She stayed at a hotel and asked for clients through her agent, Vipul Dahal, who was later arrested. According to Pune Police, they had audio clips of her exchange with Dahal proving that she is in the need of clients. Cops also claimed that recovered used and unused condoms from her room during the raid.
- For a Maneesh Singh film ‘Green Terror’, she posed completely nude. She played a female terrorist who is used by the enemy country to seduce Indian military officials and leak out sensitive information about military operations in North India.
- Arshi also courted controversy for slapping a Bhojpuri film producer Harish Pratap Singh from Indore. He allegedly tried to misbehave with her at a party.
- In an unseen segment on Voot, Arshi confessed that she loves to create controversies. She likes to provoke people, which she has been doing for some time. In the first episode of Bigg Boss 11, she is seen openly confessing her association with Shahid Afridi and also claiming that she and Afridi are still on good terms.
- “Shahid Afridi ke saath toh mera bahut masla raha hai. Shahid Afridi toh mere Mehboob rahe hai. Mehboob hai. Lekin humara rishta bahut achcha hai. Main unki bahut izzat karti hu. Bahut ache insaan hai,” she said in a video uploaded by Voot.
