Tamil superstar Rajinikanth, who has delivered many superhit films, is all set to make his political debut. The megastar today made an announcement that he will form a party in the next assembly polls and will contest elections. It comes as a great news for all the superstar’s fans. His filmy journey has been amazing and now people are eagerly waiting to see what change the actor brings in politics.
While speaking to his fans at Raghavendra marriage hall in Chennai, the superstar stated that it is the time to change politics that will have no caste and religion barriers. As soon as the announcement was made, Rajini’s fans started celebration outside the venue.
Shivaji Rao Gaekwad or Rajinikanth used to work as a bus conductor in Bangalore Transport Service while doing plays. He made his debut with K. Balachander's Tamil drama Apoorva Raagangal in 1975 and then went on to feature in many films of different languages. Rajini’s Sivaji became the first Tamil movie that was listed in the top-ten best films of the United Kingdom and South Africa box offices upon release. Rajinikanth became the second highest paid actor in Asia after Jackie Chan as he received Rs 26 crore for Sivaji.
He featured in films like Kabali and Enthiran that went to become big hits. For his contributions to the arts, he was honoured with Padma Bhushan in 2000 and the Padma Vibhushan in 2016.
The superstar has given many spectacular movies in his career and now he is gearing up for the release of 2.0 that also features actor Akshay Kumar. The movie is set to hit the screens on January 25.
