One of the most awaited films of the year, Mersal featuring actor Vijay, is all set to hit the screens next week. It was speculated that the film may face trouble because of the battle between the Tamil Film Producers’ Council and government. But, the makers have recently made it clear that they are planning a grand release as it will be releasing in 3292 screens worldwide. This has made Mersal, the biggest release for a Tamil film.
In Kerela, Vijay starrer will open in 350 screens, breaking the record of Prabhas starrer Baahubali 2, which was released in 320 screens. In Malaysia, the film is set to release in 800 screens.
In the film, the actor will be seen in triple role. The posters and trailers of the film received positive response from the audience. Along with Vijay, the film also features Kajal Aggarwal, Nithya Menen and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in pivotal roles. Actor-filmmaker SJ Suryah will be seen playing an antagonist in the film. The project is helmed by Atlee.
Vijay is collaborating with the director for the second time. Their first film Their was a big hit. The film is touted to be made on the budget of Rs 130 crore. It is yet to be seen if Mersal manages to spell magic on movie buffs.
