The latest Tamil film Sarkar, starring Vijay is facing backlash and criticism from the members of the ruling party AIADMK in the state. Despite the pulling down and protests, the flick continues its magnificent run at the box office. This Vijay starrer is hands down one of the biggest Tamil releases of the year 2018 as it was release on 3000 screens across the globe. Members of the ruling party have expressed their objections over certain scenes in which state-provided goods are being hurled in the fire.
The members of AIADMK were also enraged on the usage of name Komalavalli for the female antagonist in the film. The actual name of the late former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Jayalalitha was also Komalavalli.

Amid the growing criticism and protests, Sarkar makers on Friday decided to make some cuts in the film. In an application to the CBFC, the team requested to axe some scenes and dialogues from the film. The edited version of Sarkar was showcased in theatres from Friday evening.

Despite the upheaval, Sarkar is continuing to mint money at the box office. It is gearing near to the coveted Rs 100 crore mark at the box office. The film released on November 6 and in a matter of few days, its ready to enter the 100-crore club.
Sarkar stars Vijay, Keerthy Suresh, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Radha Ravi and Yogi Babu in significant roles. The music composed by melody king AR Rahman is already topping the chartbusters.
