Maverick filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma, who is known for his outspoken attitude and has made nasty to sarcastic comments on number of Bollywood celebrities including Sunny Leone, Tiger Shroff and others previously. But this time RGV can be seen standing firmly with Telugu star Sri Reddy. 

Supporting Sri Reddy, RGV compared her with Jhansi Lakshmi Bai. Speaking in her favour, RGV tweeted, ''I am deeply shocked with the horrific reality of Vaakada appa rao and every civilised persons hearts should go to his sexual victims and I implore upon the authorities to take immideate notice of his terrible atrocities.''

Further he wrote, ''Hey @MsSriReddy I respect you for taking such immensely courageous decisions and I salute you for achieving such a sensational and BLOCKBUSTER ViCTORY.''

In a tweet he even compared her with Jhansi Lakshmi Bai and wrote, ''To historically compare the victory of @MsSriReddy  ...Jhansi Lakshmi Bai used her sword as a weapon to fight for her kingdom and Sri Lakshmi Bai used her own body as a weapon to fight the Maledom in the film industry.'' 

In a latest development in the Telugu actress case, hours after the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) took suo motu cognizance of Telugu actress Sri Reddy's allegations of sexual exploitation, the Movie Artists' Association (MAA) on Thursday lifted a ban on her.

It also announced setting up of a Committee Against Sexual Harassment which would meet once in three months.

Reddy created a sensation by resorting to strip protest against casting couch in Tollywood in front of the office of Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce here on April 7.

In a tweet talking about casting couch RGV wrote, ''Casting couch existed ever since the advent of Cinema a 100 years back ..Not getting into individual allegations @MsSriReddy has drawn more attention to the evils of Casting Couch than anyone in the last 100 years and I salute her for that.''

He even supported her stripping act and said, ''Those who thought @MsSriReddy was wrong in stripping can’t deny,its only that shock which woke up both national and international communities  ..Sri Reddy’s mother should be proud of what her daughter achieved for film industry in general and aspiring actresses in particular.''
