Malayalam actress Priya Prakash Varrier who became a sensation overnight with 29-minute clip has filed a plea in Supreme Court over the case against a song in her debut movie. A case has been registered against her debut film Oru Adaar love in Telangana for being offensive towards Prophet Muhammed's wife.
Complaint was filed against director of Oru Adaar Love, Omar Lulu saying that the song Manikya Malaraya Poovi from the movie hurts sentiments of Muslims and hence should be taken down. However, the director clarified that song was in no way offensive to any religion or community and they are not going to delete it. He also said that final call will be taken by CBFC regarding this matter.
News agency ANI took to it official Twitter handle to write, ''Actor #PriyaPrakashVarrier files plea in Supreme Court over the case registered against her film #OruAdaarLove in Telangana.''
For unversed, Priya shot to fame just before Valentine's Day with a video in which she can be seen arching her eyebrows, winking and blushing at a boy who likes her in school. The song crooned by Vineeth Sreenivasan and composed by Shaan Rahman also became hit but it was Priya who stole the limelight.
