NTR Biopic: First look of Rakul Preet as legendary actress Sridevi is out! See pictures
A few days ago, it was confirmed that Rakul Preet will essay the role of late actress Sridevi in upcoming NTR biopic. The actress who was done a couple of Bollywood movies, including Aiyaary, has stepped in the shoes of the legendary actress in the upcoming Telugu film. The film consists of an ensemble cast including NTR, Vidya Balan (as Basavatarakam). Also, Rana Daggubati will be essaying the role of Nara Chandrababu Naidu, present Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, who is NTR’s son-in-law.
In the pictures, Rakul Preet looks ethereal as well as naïve in a white saree and half-tied hair. Sharing the first look, film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh wrote, “Rakul Preet as #Sridevi... Rakul Preet portrays the part of the legendary actress in #NTRBiopic... While the first part [#NTRKathanayakudu] will release on 9 Jan 2019 [Wed], the second part [#NTRMahanayakudu] will release on 24 Jan 2019 [Thu]... Directed by Krish.”
Rakul Preet was the first choice to play Sridevi in NTR biopic, owing to her popularity in the south. Sridevi and NTR have done 14 films together including Rowdi Ramudu Konte Krishnudu (1980) and Vayyari Bhamalu Vagalamaari Bharthalu (1982). Hence, makers wanted to find the right choice for the role and the search ended on Rakul.
This republic day is going to be very exciting as Krish Jagalarmudi’s two films are clashing around the same date. His Bollywood period drama Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi is also hitting the theatres on January 25, a day after NTR biopic’s second part is releasing. The first part of NTR biopic is releasing on January 9.
Mahanati fame Keerthy Suresh, Prakash Raj and Ravi Kishan will also be seen in NTR biopic in important roles.
