Mersal’s Telugu version ‘Adhirindhi’ gets censor nod

The Tamil blockbuster Mersal, featuring Vijay, which was in news due to the protest related to GST, will now be released in Telugu.

The Telugu version of Mersal named as Adhirindhi is scheduled to release on November 9. The film has got nod from censor board as well. Reports suggested that Adhirindhi is not a remake of Mersal. Earlier, it was said that the remake rights of the film was bought by Geeta Arts, which is owned by Allu Aravind.

But later, the reports were completely denied by Aditi Ravindranath, who is executive producer and marketing head at The Nandal Films.

Reportedly, Adhirindhi was earlier scheduled to release on October 27, but was later it was postponed. Rumour were also making round that the film was having some issue from the censor board to get clearance. But the makers denied all such reports.  

On the other hand, Mersal is getting a good response of the audience in overseas market as well. The film is doing good in Malaysia, Australia, North America, France and UK. 

Praising the film superstar Rajinikanth recently tweeted, ‘’An important topic has been dealt with. Well done. Congratulations."
