Actor Vijay’s last release, Mersal has been embroiled in controversies ever since it was released. The movie had to face the wrath of the politicians as it mocked GST and demonetisation. Actor Vijay has finally broken his silence on the issue and thanked his fans for their love and support. Interestingly, he has used his full Christian name, C. Joseph Vijay in the message.
While targeting the film and lashing out at Vijay, BJP national secretary H Raja said that the actor was Christian. According to a report of a leading daily, the actor wrote a message with his name Jesus Saves written in bold letters. He thanked his fans, colleagues, directors and filmmakers from the industry stating that they had given befitting reply.
Meanwhile, Mersal is doing terrific business at the national and international box office. Trade pundits predicted that the film will cross 200 cr mark worldwide. Vijay’s fans have proved their love for the star.
On a related note, the film features Vijay in triple role and is directed by Atlee Kumar. Mersal also stars Kajal Aggarwal, Nithya Menen and Samantha Ruth Prabhu in pivotal roles. Both Atlee and Vijay have collaborated for the second time in Mersal. They have earlier worked together in Theri.
