There's no stopping the Yash starrer KGF: Chapter 1 at the box office. The film is currently the biggest opener of the Kannada film industry. The film, which has released in five languages including Hindi is currently giving a tough competition to Shah Rukh Khan’s Zero. Both the films are currently facing Box Office battle. KGF is smashing all the records at the Box Office down South. The film earned the double of Rajinikanth’s 2.0 in Karnataka on day one. The magnum opus earned Rs 12.50 crore approx alone in Karnataka which is huge for a Kannada film. The film is surely going a long way in the coming days.
On day one, KGF earned Rs 18 crore approx all over with day 2 has registered impressive numbers at the ticket windows. The film has shown growth on its second day with a collection of Rs 19.20 crore approx and with this, total business of the film stands at around Rs 37.20 crore. On Saturday, the Hindi version of the film earned Rs 3 crore, which is not bad.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted box office collections of KGF's Hindi version; "#KGF witnesses an upward trend on Day 2 [Sat]... Biz should grow further on Day 3 [Sun]... Growth on Day 2 [vis-à-vis Day 1]: 42.86%... Fri 2.10 cr, Sat 3 cr. Total: 5.10 cr. India biz. Note: HINDI version."
On its first day, the film collected about Rs 25 crore from the worldwide box office. In India, the film raked in Rs 21 crore (approx) despite facing competition from Shah Rukh Khan's Zero.On day two, the film is continuing its successful run. KGF Chapter 1 is setting terrific records not only in India but also in overseas markets like US.
KGF is the biggest film ever produced in the history of Kannada cinema, and is being compared to Baahubali in terms of grandeur and scale. The rags-to-riches tale revolves around the journey of one man (played by Yash), who rises from the dusty streets of Mumbai to become the ruler of the now-defunct Kolar Gold Fields.
The big-budget action extravaganza also stars Ramya Krishnan, Anant Nag and Achyuth Kumar, apart from Yash.
