Superstar Rajinikanth is celebrating his 67th birthday today and on, the special occasion the makers of his upcoming film Kaala have released a new poster. Covered in soot, wearing a greasy black shirt and sunglasses, Rajinikanth looks grim and intimidating in the poster. He wore a similar expression in one of the first posters of the film. Produced by Wunderbar Films, which is owned by actor Dhanush, the film is nearing completion and will be released in 2018. Kaala also stars Huma Qureshi, Anjali Patil, Nana Patekar and Samuthirakani.
Taking to Twitter, Dhanush shared Rajinikanth’s look for Kaala with a caption that read, “Here you go !! The king of style our Superstar’s “kaalaa” 2nd look”.
Directed by Kabali director Ranjith, Kaala is reportedly the story of a Mumbai-based don. But if the poster is something to go by, there is a hint of revolution in the story. Do we have another Baasha on hands? Does Kaarikalan turn to rowdyism to protect his people? Looks like it.
A portion of the film was shot in Mumbai in the slums of Dharavi, again a throwback to the classic Baasha. A grand film set of the slum was erected in Chennai to shoot remaining portions of the film. Apart from Rajinikanth, the film has Huma Qureshi, Sakshi Agarwal, Nana Patekar and Pankaj Tripathi among others. Kaala also sees the return of the Kabali trio, Rajinikanth-Ranjith-Santhosh Narayanan.
Meanwhile, there is a huge buzz of Rajinikanth venturing into the world of politics. The fans all over the world are super curious to know the details about it and are desperately waiting for the official announcement.
