Baahubali franchise was a turning point in Indian cinema. With its visual aesthetics and grandeur, it left audience spellbound. The magician behind this, SS Rajamouli became a household name after delivering two blockbusters under the franchise. Rajamouli took a short break after dedicating almost five years to Baahubali. Now, the ace director is back with his new projects. There are two films in the pipeline- one with Danayya and the other with Tollywood superstar Mahesh Babu.
The movie produced by Danayya will be a social drama. The producer has earlier given movies such as Cameraman Ganga Tho Rambabu and Desamuduru. However, title and language of the film is yet to be finalised. In an interview to Variety, Rajamouli said, ''I have committed to Danayya and that will be my next''.After this, Rajamouli will collaborate with Mahesh Babu. The actor's Tamil debut Spyder hit the screens on September 27. Produced by K.L. Narayana, the movie will take off by the end of next year or early 2019.
Rajamouli is a terrific storyteller and no one has even an iota of doubt about that. After delivering tremendously popular movies like Eega and Magadheera, he helmed Baahubali which set a new benchmark for Indian movies. Starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannah, Ramya Krishnan and Sathyaraj, the movie raked in more than Rs 1500 crore.The story set in the fictional kingdom of Mahishmati narrated power tussle between two brothers.
