Rakul Preet Singh in NTR biopic
After the news of Rakul Preet Singh being zeroed in to play the role of late veteran actress Sridevi hit the headlines, makers of NTR biopic released the first look and a poster as well. In pictures tweeted by trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the Aiyaary actress looks spitting image of Sridevi. In white saree and loosely tied hair, Rakul oozes charm and grace. Have a look:
Now the makers of NTR biopic have released a poster recreating the Aaku Chatu Pinde Tadise moment from the classic Telugu hit Vetagadu. In the poster, we can see NTR's son Nandamuri Balakrishna (who is also playing the lead character) dancing with Rakul while getting drenched in the rain. Have a look:

On a related note, NTR biopic is one of the most awaited films of Telugu cinema. It has an ensemble star cast including Vidya Balan, Rana Daggubati, Keerthy Suresh, Prakash Raj and Ravi Kishan. While Balan will play the first wife of NTR, Basavatarakam, Daggubati will essay the role of Nara Chandrababu Naidu, present Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, who married NTR's daughter Bhuvaneshwari.
The movie will release in two parts. While the first part Kathanayakudu will hit theaters on January 9, second part Mahanayakudu will release on January 24, 2019. Directed by Krish, makers have released posters of both the parts. While in the first poster we can see NTR-The Actor, the second poster shows him as a fierce politician.
NTR biopic
Rakul was makers first choice as she is also popular in south. Sridevi and NTR have done 14 movies together including Rowdi Ramudu Konte Krishnudu (1980) and Vayyari Bhamalu Vagalamaari Bharthalu (1982). Hence, makers wanted to find the right choice for the role and the search ended on Rakul.
On the professional front, Rakul was last seen in Bollywood film Aiyaary, co-starring Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee.
