Marathi film Nude seems to have embroiled itself in a series of controversies. Just few days back, the film was dropped from the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) to be held in Goa along with the Malayalam film Durga S. Now, Jaipur based writer, Manisha Kulshreshtha has accused the makers of the controversial Marathi film Nude of copying the story of their film from her story Kalindi. Nude is being directed by National Award-winning director Ravi Jadhav. This film traces the life of a woman who secretly works as a nude model for artists in Mumbai. It also shows her struggles to hide the truth about her profession from her family and son.

While speaking to ANI, Manisha said, “Story of Ravi Jadhav’s film ‘Nude’ has the same plot line as my short story Kalindi. I will have to take legal action against it. Such situation arises because they do not want to give credit or money to writers.”

Two days ago, Manisha had contacted the director of the film, Ravi Jadhav on Facebook and said, “Mr. Jadhav I got to know yours The NUDE ,new Film script is just very close copy of my story Kalindi! I am Manisha Kulshreshtha , popular Hindi writer…”. She alleges that Ravi removed her from Messenger, but she had taken screenshots.

The film stars Kalyanee Mulay, Chhaya Kadam and Madan Deodhar. Nude, along with S Durga, had been dropped from screening by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting at Indian International Film Festival in Goa. Nude was originally jury’s unanimous choice to open the Indian Panorama section at the IFFI. The trailer of the film also features Bollywood actor Naseeruddin Shah.
